Refashioning ceremonial adornments worn by chiefs and patriarchs of the past, Belmacz creates a balance between weight, space and substance proposing powerful shapes carved out of precious and earthy materials. Muggenburg’s unique pieces incorporate antique stones, fossilised dinosaur bone, orbicular agate, one-off diamonds, trapiche emeralds and other fantastic materials. The vision behind Belmacz is to express the excitement and magic felt when working with the stunning natural, one-of-a-kind  materials made into contemporary gems. 

 Founded in 2000 by Julia Muggenburg, Belmacz is a trans*cultural composite combining the male adjective ‘bel’ (from the French beautiful), ‘maximum’ (the Latin root), and the sublime letter ‘z’ (part of the Slavic ‘cz’). Belmacz is a space of innovation; a site for cultural expression and polyvocal conversation, situated in the red-brick streets of central London’s Mayfair.
